Marissa Flowerday | Juno Legal | Lawyer

Capability

I am a solution finder, have strong commercial nous, and proven ability for communicating how to reduce risk while meeting strategic objectives. Over the past five years at Juno, I've been embedded into existing legal teams, as well as in sole counsel roles, providing clients with advice across a broad range of commercial, regulatory and compliance matters.

Prior to Juno, as Head of Legal and Regulatory at Trade Me, I led the team that advised the company on all aspects of commercial law, instructed on the acquisition of new companies, provided legal guidance on the development of new online services, consumer law, privacy and intellectual property. I also led Trade Me’s regulatory and government relations programme, where I worked closely with government agencies, officials and parliament, and was involved in legislative reviews to ensure the law could be implemented online in a practical and pragmatic way.

  • Just a quick note to say that I have really appreciated working with Marissa over the last wee while.  I have enjoyed her pragmatism and common sense, not to mention her fantastic legal skills and sense of humour!  She has been a highly valued member of our team and a very safe pair of hands.

  • Juno Legal have been a great support to Dyson ANZ. Our legal team are based in Australia, however deal with issues relating to our New Zealand business on a regular basis. We were looking for support from a firm in NZ that could provide cost efficient advice on various ad hoc matters that arise from time to time. Marissa from Juno Legal, has been great at filling this need for us and has provided clear and timely advice that has hit the mark on a variety of matters.

    Ashvini Arnott

Legal Counsel, Dyson Australia and New Zealand

  • We are so happy with Marissa. She wrote a great letter for us for our client. I could only envy the way she put everything.

    Cynthia Pfeffer

    Office Manager, Essen Engineering

  • Marissa is a real asset to our team here at Consumer NZ. She can get to the crux of an issue quickly and brings a range of experiences to bear on problems. She was particularly helpful in leading a project to amalgamate a number of disparate privacy policies into one, simple to read and user friendly product.

Marissa is great to deal with and her move to Spain has made no real difference to working with her. Despite the location, her delivery remains consistent, efficient, and of high quality. Clear deadlines ensure that results are delivered on time even across time zones.

    Jon Duffy

    Chief Executive, Consumer

  • Marissa joined our small team at a time when we were rapidly scaling internationally and concurrently establishing a full service legal function. A busy time for the legal team!

Since joining, Marissa has applied her wealth of experience to partner with the business to deliver a broad range of projects. Her extensive experience means she was immediately able to operate autonomously and she has quickly built up relationships throughout the organisation.

We have really enjoyed her calm and considered manner, and ‘can do’ attitude, no matter what is asked of her.

I regularly receive compliments about her professionalism and pragmatism from stakeholders across the business and personally am very appreciative of the support she provides the me and the legal team. Marissa has worked almost entirely remotely since joining us and we’ve found the model to be very effective.”

Fomer General Counsel (CLO) Company Secretary, Serko
